The last few cards trickled in from my COMC shipment, all three feature cards from 13-14 ITG BTP.
I enjoyed watching all three of these guys play, although they didn't really have the careers people thought they would have. It is a shame BTP is no more as it is highly unlikely they will have any further cards produced.
I built up a nice little haul over the last little while and I finally spent the $3 to ship it out. COMC is quite a cost effective method for buying cards considering they will hold the cards you purchase until you are ready to ship. This leads to a quite a bit of money saved on shipping costs.
Time to start off the shipment with a few rookies! Two of the greatest offensive defensemen of all-time. It was time to add these to the collection and it didn't cost very much!
A few cards for the goalie PC. The 92/93 Bowman Foil Cards look very nice in hand.
On to Baseball now! I purged most of my collection 5 years back after I decided to leave the game of baseball behind me. The itch came back and I wanted to add a few cards that I had sold into the collection again.
Brandon Wood was one of my favourite prospects, although he didn't pan out, I'm glad to add this card into my collection. I'm a Jays fan and I want to add a few Jays card into the PC. This Hutch rookie was very affordable.
I saved my two favourites for last! It took me far too long to add these cards.
It took me a while to identify this card! At first I thought that it was the 1993-94 Pinnacle Alexandre Daigle Auto that was limited to 1500 copies.
Turns out, it was perhaps something much more rare. After doing some research I came along a new book entitled "He Shoots, He Saves" about hockey collectibles:
I'm glad to finally add this card to my collection! It is indeed the pack pulled version of the card. These were pretty tough pulls and the card features a seal guaranteeing it as the pack pulled version. Any smudges on the card are from my scanner bed.
My budget has been tight lately for cards, however I have managed to pick-up a few nice gems over the last little while!
Show Stamped cards from ITG don't usually sell well on the secondary market. I picked this one up for a very low price considering the very nice patch. I have a small Jamie Storr PC and this card is a nice addition.
This is my second annual Christmas BTP box break. Last year I hit a very nice Patrick Roy Stick/Auto /3 from 10-11 BTP. My break this year was not as good but it still featured a really nice hit.
Nothing really to write home about here on the inserts. I would have loved to have pulled a PC Mask card.
The Cheveldae is a nice card and it is PC. My second game used was of a junior guy I don't know. I will save the big hit for later!
All junior guys. I was pretty disappointed with that. Would have liked a minor league or retired NHL goalie.
The BIG hit!
Bob Sauve Vezina Trophy Winners /5. A pretty nice hit! At first I thought I had pulled a Vezina stick card, then realized it was Bob Sauve. Still a nice hit and I'm glad to have this piece of history in my PC.
I'm working on the master set right now and I can tell you that this has been a very tough challenge. Some of the Ultra Rare cards have not seen the light of day in a while. I was able to pick up four boxes very cheap in hopes I can hit some of the tough Ultra Rare cards. In my first box I was able to hit a Messier. This is something I can certainly check off my bucket list as I always wanted to pull an Ultra Rare Bronze from 95-96 Playoff. These were super big hits back in the day!
These are the highlights of my most recent COMC order. I was able to add a few nice cards for various sets I am working on.
During the late summer and early fall, a lot of my 90's wants were not surfacing, so I decided to focus on 80's OPC rookies. I was able to pickup a few key rookies.
