These are the highlights of my most recent COMC order. I was able to add a few nice cards for various sets I am working on.
During the late summer and early fall, a lot of my 90's wants were not surfacing, so I decided to focus on 80's OPC rookies. I was able to pickup a few key rookies.
Lately, I have been quite busy chasing after my want list! Being in the hobby for a while now, I have really learned how to stretch my limited budget as far as possible. I have also found that with determination and dedication I can build sets rather in-expensively.
96-97 Metal was a wonderful set, and the armor plate inserts where very sought after for a period of time. While they don't pop up too often, they also don't sell for very much. I'm glad I was able to knock off the two toughest cards in the set.
The 94-95 Pinnacle Mask cards are VERY tough and do not come up often. Even common singles sell for $10+. Roy is a strong seller in the $40-$50 range. This is my first pickup from the 94-95 set. I have complete all other years of the MASK set's, something that has take sometime but I am certainly proud of!
Skybox Impact was only around for two years, although they managed to put out some very nice products. Most of the singles don't sell for very much anymore, however the Zero Heroes insert set is still desirable. I'm down to two more for the set (Roy and Puppa)
Patrick Lalime got off to a very hot start in his NHL career and I certainly thought he would go on to a great career. I picked up his Rookies as much as I could then. Lalime went on to a 200 win career and ended his career with three seasons of limited action with the Sabres.
Found these two in a $1 bin and couldn't leave them behind. I actually had never seen these before and decided to add them to my collection.
The best is still to come, so please check back soon for part 2! Most likely it will take three posts to get all my pick-ups shown off!
